Enchilada-Taco Sauce 🌮🔥
Why buy enchilada sauce when you can make a bold, zesty version at home in just minutes? This flavorful sauce is perfect for smothering enchiladas, drizzling over tacos, or pouring on top of a burrito. Skip the additives and artificial ingredients—homemade is always better!
Ingredients:
1 tbsp canola oil
3 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp smoked paprika (optional for extra depth)
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
1- 15 oz can of tomato sauce
1/2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (for a little tang)
Kosher or sea salt & black pepper to taste
Instructions:
1️⃣ Add Spices: Add oil to saucepan, heat over medium heat and stir in the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, paprika, and cayenne. Cook for 30 seconds to toast the spices.
2️⃣ Add Liquid: Gradually whisk in the tomato sauce until smooth.
3️⃣ Simmer: Reduce heat and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens.
4️⃣ Finish It Off: Stir in the vinegar, season with salt & pepper, and adjust heat level if needed.
